Client : Archeological Unit of the Institute of South East Asian Studies
Project : Aerial and documentary photography and videography for the excavation at Empress Place.
Archeologist and volunteers raced against time to excavate the site at Empress Place as the foreboding shadows of excavators crept on nearby. The team was working 13 hours days on an extremely right schedule right up to the deadline, salvaging 700 years of history before it got destroyed. Described as “hitting the archaeological jackpot”, the site yielded 700-year-old artefacts with some significant finds that will built upon the foundation history of Singapore. The final tally of 3 tonnes a million artefacts will be materials for researches to clean, sort and analyse over the near few years.
